As someone who lives with chronic anxiety, mental health awareness is incredibly important to me. According to statistics, 1 in 5 people suffer from mental illness every year. That means every one of us knows someone who has struggled with their mental health. Unfortunately, the stigma associated with mental disorders prevents many from seeking out the help they need. A great way for us as a society to end the stigma is to observe Mental Health Awareness Month.
Good morning! Thanks for joining me for the March 2020 edition of Sit a Spell. I'm publishing this post a little late, but following my impromptu ER visit, my anxiety went into hyperdrive. Instead of forcing myself to push through, I took a much needed mental health vacay.
The North Carolina blogging scene is ripe with talent. Some of the most famous bloggers in the country live here. Many of those are women. When it dawned on me that International Women's Day is today, I knew I had to round up my favorites to share with you.
Happy Friday, y'all! I'm so glad you've returned for the new edition of Sit a Spell! My morning is off to a great start. I hope yours is too. I'm sitting here with a mug of lemon lavender tea, thinking about how different February was from the last several months.
If you're from North Carolina, you're familiar with the term. You've probably even used it to invite friends or loved ones to take a seat and chit-chat over a beverage. I can't think of a better way to get to know a new friend or catch up with old ones. So get comfy and sit a spell, there's a lot to talk about!
