This past month has been one of the busiest of my life. Why? We bought a house! Brandon and I signed the closing papers on May 21st. I can't believe we've already spent two weeks in our new home! If you can't tell, I'm beyond stoked to be starting this new chapter in our lives!
As someone who lives with chronic anxiety, mental health awareness is incredibly important to me. According to statistics, 1 in 5 people suffer from mental illness every year. That means every one of us knows someone who has struggled with their mental health. Unfortunately, the stigma associated with mental disorders prevents many from seeking out the help they need. A great way for us as a society to end the stigma is to observe Mental Health Awareness Month.
Using Pinterest for self-care isn’t a revolutionary idea. Thousands of people use the app for the exact same thing. As a matter of fact, so many other people use it for self-care that there are over 2 billion wellness pins on Pinterest! But today, I'm going to show you a whole new way to incorporate the app into your self-care routine by using it as a medium for practicing gratitude.
My skin is a total wreck this morning. That shouldn't come as a surprise, anxiety is known to contribute to any number of skin conditions. And I've had my fair share of anxiety lately. Unfortunately, the stress is etching itself across my body in angry red splotches.
I promised myself I wouldn't spend a ton of money on our yard this year. Since we rent, it's a waste to invest so much on beautifying someone else's property. It was a logical decision. Especially since we've been talking about buying a house. However, I'm currently rethinking that stance.
